My apartment in DC

A couple of months ago I moved to DC for a job. Initially I was under the impression that I was going to be in DC for a 3 week orientation session and then shipped off to some part of the world that no one knows exists. To my dismay things took a drastic change and during the 2nd week I found out that I would be in DC for 2 years for training. How wonderful, I now had about 2 weeks before my per diem would run out to find an apartment. So I went out and got me an apartment, unfortunately my stuff which was freight shipped from Chicago wouldn't show up until a month later. I moved into my apartment with the only thing I had a box of personal effects (ie. some clothes, sleeping bag, and thermarest). My box and I shared many a good times over the next month.
